Eurosystem completes tests using DLT for central bank money settlement

The Eurosystem has successfully completed a series of tests employing distributed ledger technology (DLT) for wholesale settlement in central bank money. The programme is of great relevance to the Eurosystem and Banca d'Italia, which is engaged in its dual role as a central bank providing one of the trial solutions (c.d. TIPS Hash-Link) and supporting the Italian operators' participation.
