Economic developments in the Italians regions. Annual report, No. 2 - June 2012

The Annual report on the economic developments in the Italian regions analyses economic activity in the four Italian macro-regions.

In 2011 economic activity stagnated in the Southern and Central regions, while increasing in the Northern ones, especially in those in the North East.

In this number special feature boxes focus on: the dynamics of Italian exports of precious metals, the effect on sales of strategies undertaken by Italian firms to diversify their markets and products at the beginning of the financial and economic crisis; the recent dynamics of hiring and firing in Italian manufacturing and services firms; an analysis of the level and concentration of wealth among Italian households; the banks' assessment of credit supply and demand; and the financial assets of Italian households.
