The ECB published a "call for expression of interest" addressed to financial market participants wishing to participate in the Eurosystem's exploratory work on the use of new technologies for wholesale central bank money (CeBM) settlement. This publication follows an announcement in April 2023 and a later survey in October 2023 where operators were asked to express preliminary interest in the initiative.
Responses to this call for expression of interest must be submitted by the deadline of 31 January 2024 for those interested in taking part in trials between May 2024 and November 2024 (wave 1), and by the deadline of 30 April 2024 for participation between August 2024 and November 2024 (wave 2).
