Conference on 'Financing Growth and Innovation in Europe: Economic and Policy Challenges'

Banca d'Italia and the Florence School of Banking and Finance (FBF) of the European University Institute will host a policy conference on 'Financing Growth and Innovation in Europe: Economic and Policy Challenges'. The event will be held in person at the FBF in Fiesole (Florence) on 10 and 11 March 2025. To attend the conference, please register on the FBF website.

The financial system's ability to support innovation and firms with high growth potential through the provision of venture capital and specific forms of private debt is crucial to fostering technological progress and achieving productivity gains in the economy. In the new geopolitical landscape, the strategic importance for Europe of further developing its financial ecosystem in order to drive economic innovation has become apparent. One of the objectives of European policy initiatives, therefore, is to support the integration of financial markets and the provision of capital to innovative companies by long-term investors.

The conference will bring together academics, policy makers and industry representatives to discuss the state of innovation financing in Europe and the policies required to promote its development.
