Communication on disputed unauthorized payment transactions

Following the in-depth analysis it carried out in the field of payment transactions not authorized by users, Banca d'Italia issued a communication to draw the attention of payment service providers (PSPs) to the need to adopt conduct that complies with the relevant rules and is based on the principle of fairness in customer relations. To this end, the communication asks PSPs to carry out a self-assessment of the alignment of their arrangements, procedures and practices with current regulations and with Banca d'Italia's expectations, and to take any necessary corrective action.
