The European Commission is organizing three virtual workshops on Artificial Intelligence (AI) developments in finance, as part of the European Forum for Innovation Facilitators (EFIF). The workshops will be led by the Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) and the Directorate General for Communication Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT), including the AI Office, in close collaboration with the three European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, ESMA and EIOPA) and the national competent authorities. The Bank of Italy is part of the project team in charge of organizing the workshops. The objective of these workshops, scheduled for Q4 2024, is to gather feedback from stakeholders regarding their experiences with AI, in order to identify regulatory and supervisory areas of intervention relevant for AI initiatives.
Industry representatives, including AI service providers, will have the opportunity to present their projects, whether under development or already in use, and engage in discussions with the European Commission and supervisory authorities on the specific issues and challenges they are encountering.
The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday, 26 July 2024.
