Banca d'Italia and the Ministry of Education and Merit: Memorandum of Understanding to promote financial education in schools
Banca d'Italia and the Ministry of Education and Merit have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding setting out how to cooperate to promote financial education in schools. The agreement aims to improve students' skills and support their educational guidance, in line with the new regulatory framework in which civic education includes financial education.
The Memorandum confirms and reinforces the commitment of Banca d'Italia and the Ministry of Education and Merit to financial education, further strengthening a collaborative path that began in 2007.
Under this agreement, Banca d'Italia undertakes to develop training programmes for teachers, to make educational materials available to teachers and students, to provide school-work-based learning initiatives, and to support and organize competitions for schools, such as the 'Let's design a banknote' award.
