Banca d'Italia and EUI conference on the ESG paradigm and the climate imperative. Regulatory and policy challenges for the banking sector

On 23 and 24 March, Banca d'Italia and the Florence School of Banking and Finance of the European University Institute (EUI) hosted a conference on the ESG paradigm and the climate imperative. Academics, supervisors, and financial sector representatives discussed the main challenges that ESG factors pose to financial intermediaries. International experts, including Ben Caldecott of the University of Oxford and Lucrezia Reichlin of the London Business School, attended the conference.

Speakers from the Bank of Italy included Sergio Nicoletti Altimari, Head of the Directorate General for Economics, Statistics and Research, Giuseppe Siani, Head of the Directorate General for Financial Supervision and Regulation, and Alessio De Vincenzo, Head of the Financial Stability Directorate.
