Applications open for the fourth edition of the second-level Master's Programme in 'Data Science for Public Decision Making'
Applications are now open for the fourth edition of the second-level Master's Programme in 'Data Science for Public Decision Making', offered by the University of Rome Tor Vergata in partnership with the Italian Revenue Agency and Banca d'Italia.
The widespread use of information systems and the growing importance of artificial intelligence and advanced analytical tools are making an ever-increasing wealth of data available to public sector organizations. Designing, managing and analysing these datasets requires highly specialized skills to provide the best possible support for public decision-making. Specialization in data science plays therefore a key role in meeting the growing demand for these skills across the public sector.
This master's programme, which lasts two years and is taught entirely in Italian, aims to develop the statistical, IT and managerial skills needed to:
- oversee the entire process of collecting, managing and analysing large amounts of data;
- and communicate the insights generated through these activities effectively, so that they can be used in evaluation and decision-making processes in the public sector.
The master's programme is intended for Italian and international graduates with a suitable background in statistics and information technology, holding a four-year degree under the previous Italian university system, a master's degree pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004, or a specialist degree pursuant to Ministerial Decree 509/1999.
The programme is designed to train professionals specializing in Data Science for Public Decision Making, equipping them with advanced expertise in statistical methodologies, solid data management skills, and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate results effectively.
Applications are open until 13 November 2026 on the Master's programme website.
