Applications now open for the third edition of the Second-Level Master's Programme 'Data Science for Public Decision Making'
organized by @Unitorvergata in collaboration with Banca d'Italia
The widespread use of information systems has made vast amounts of local, national and international data available to public organizations. Designing, managing and analysing these databases requires highly specialized expertise to support public decision-making processes. Advanced skills in data science are therefore increasingly essential to meet growing demand across general government bodies.
This two-year master's programme, taught entirely in Italian, is designed to equip participants with the statistical, IT and management skills needed to:
- manage the full lifecycle of large-scale data acquisition, processing and analysis;
- effectively communicate the insights generated through these activities for use in evaluation and decision-making processes within the public sector.
The programme is open to Italian and international graduates with a background in statistics and computer science, holding either a four-year degree under the former Italian system, a Master's degree (under Ministerial Decree 270/04) or a Specialist degree (Ministerial Decree 509/99).
Graduates of the Data Science for Public Decision Making programme will acquire advanced knowledge of statistical methodologies, hands-on experience in managing large datasets, and strong teamwork and communication skills in multidisciplinary environments.
Applications are open until 7 November 2025 on the website of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
