3rd EPSI (Economics of the Public Sector and Institutions) Conference

On September 14-15, 2026, Banca d'Italia hosted the 3rd edition of the EPSI (Economics of the Public Sector and Institutions) Conference. This annual conference brings together leading scholars working on these and related topics.

This year, the keynote lectures were delivered by Professor Chiara Farronato (Harvard Business School) and Professor Michael Carlos Best (Columbia University).

From industrial policy and competition to public procurement, public-sector management and policy implementation, the conference showcased new research on the challenges facing public institutions and on the factors that shape their effectiveness.
