2nd Banca d'Italia Annual Research Conference on Monetary Policy

Banca d'Italia is organizing its second Annual Research Conference on Monetary Policy. The event will be hosted at Banca d'Italia on 18-19 June 2026.

Prof. Fernando Alvarez (University of Chicago) and Prof. Michael Woodford (Columbia University) are confirmed keynote speakers for the event. The conference will bring together economists from academia and central banks to address key aspects of the conduct of monetary policy. The event will focus, among other topics, on: 1) the role of uncertainty for monetary policy and macroeconomic dynamics; 2) central bank communication and the formation of inflation expectations, and 3) the interactions between monetary and fiscal policy, as well as with structural factors such as heterogeneity among households and firms.
