The ECB has launched the 2022 edition of the "Young Economist Prize", a research competition for Ph.D. students in economics and finance that offers them the chance to share their research results, engage with policymakers and top academics worldwide, and win a €10,000 prize.

Students currently enrolled in a Ph.D. programme in economics or finance can participate in the competition by submitting a paper on 'Challenges for the post-pandemic economy' by 13 February 2022. Co-authors of eligible papers should either be doctoral students or have completed their Ph.D. no more than three years ago.

Ten finalists are invited to the ECB Forum on Central Banking, to be held in Sintra, Portugal, from 27 to 29 June, 2022.

The winner will be announced by the President of the ECB during the Forum and will be awarded a prize of €10,000.
