China Workshop 2026

Banca d'Italia and the European Central Bank are organizing the workshop entitled 'China Shock 2.0: Causes, Consequences, and Policy Responses', which will take place at the headquarters of the Banca d'Italia on Monday, 28 September 2026.

The workshop aims to bring together researchers from public institutions and academia to analyze the causes and effects of the new wave of Chinese exports. Contributions are welcome on topics including, but not limited to, the determinants of the Chinese trade surplus, the reconfiguration of global trade flows, and the responses of European and international authorities. Authors are invited to submit full papers or extended abstracts to china_workshop@bancaditalia.it by 30 June 2026.

The scientific committee consists of: Lorenzo Bencivelli, Alessandro Borin and Lilia Patrignani (Banca d'Italia), and Alexander Al-Haschimi, Maria Grazia Attinasi and Tajda Spital (European Central Bank).
