Federal Reserve Board and Banca d'Italia - Virtual mode, 11 November 2020 - 12 November 2020

The Federal Reserve Board and the Bank of Italy are pleased to publish the programme of the 2020 Banca d'Italia and Federal Reserve Board Joint Conference on Nontraditional Data & Statistical Learning with Applications to Macroeconomics.

During the conference, the findings of the most recent research based on new methods, such as machine learning or natural language processing techniques (NLP), or the use of new granular and unstructured data (Big Data), to measure and/or predict economic and financial variables, in particular during the recent pandemic induced by COVID-19.

The Organizing Committee was composed of Giuseppe Bruno (Banca d'Italia), Ricardo Correa (Federal Reserve Board), Christopher Kurz (Federal Reserve Board), and Juri Marcucci (Banca d'Italia).

The conference will take place virtually on 11 and 12 November 2020 between 2:00PM CET / 8:00AM ET and 7:45PM CET / 1:45PM ET to allow participation from different time zones.
