The second seminar of the Bank of Italy's annual programme of technical cooperation with central banks of emerging countries was devoted to the Balance of payments production process.
Starting from user requirements, internationally agreed methods, common reporting standards, the seminar provided a general and updated overview of the Balance of payments production process, drawing on the experience of Banca d'Italia.
Specific focuses were made on the different stages of the statistical process, from data collection to data dissemination, and on issues related to the assessment of the quality of the outcome of each phase.
