Vai alla versione italianaThe key banking and credit law is Legislative Decree 385/1993 (as amended), known as the Consolidated Law on Banking (TUB).
Legislative Decree 58/1998, referred to as the Consolidated Law on Finance (TUF), is the main law governing financial intermediaries.
Additional primary sources are: Legislative Decrees 180 and 181 of 16 November 2015, implementing Directive 2014/59/EU (BRRD), as amended, on the resolution of credit institutions and investment firms; Legislative Decree 30/2016 implementing Directive 2014/49/EU (DGSD) on deposit guarantee schemes; and Legislative Decree 224/2023 implementing the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2021/23 on the recovery and resolution of CCPs.
