This webinar provides an overview of Banca d'Italia's approach to banking crisis management. Drawing on first-hand experience - with the presentation of real banking crisis cases - the seminar covers the approach to crisis management for significant and less significant institutions (in accordance with the Single Resolution Board's guidelines).
Experts from Banca d'Italia will illustrate - including through case studies - their experiences in the management of resolution and national insolvency procedures (compulsory administrative liquidations). The latter have historically been used in Italy to preserve the continuity of banking operations and to protect the rights of creditors, depositors and customers.
The webinar will also focus on the role of Deposit Guarantee Schemes (DGSs) and on Banca d'Italia's supervision of DGSs.
