This Chronology of the years 2007-12 is based on the events that marked the unfolding of the crisis - such as the defaults of important intermediaries and the sovereign debt problems of some European countries - and on the political and institutional reactions.
The main focus is on Italy, the European Union and the eurozone and, at global level, on the G-20 summits and the action taken by the Financial Stability Board. The Chronology goes on to list the main legislative measures adopted to counter the crisis, mostly at European level and in Italy, but also in other countries.
