The Bank invites consumer associations to learn about changes in customer protection

Today, the Bank hosted the first of a series of information meetings with consumer associations on the subject of protection for users of banking and financial services. A presentation was given on the changes introduced by the recent crisis resolution regulations, the existing legislation on transparency and fairness in bank-customer relationships, and the reforms to the role of financial intermediaries. The initiative was well received and the audience expressed enormous interest in the subjects covered, which will be looked at in greater depth at future meetings, along with any other topics put forward by the associations. It is hoped that these meetings will establish a line of communication through which useful information can be relayed to customers of banking and financial services.
