In relation to the orders of the Prefect of the Province of Rome dated 3 and 4 February for the closing of government offices in Rome and the other municipalities of the province, the Bank of Italy has decided to maintain, drawing on the staff available, the operational continuity of its functions in view of their importance to the orderly operation of the national and European payment system.
Staff members not present today will in any case be treated as on paid leave.
There have been no problems in conducting the activities of the central administration or the branches of the Bank of Italy in the metropolitan area of Rome.
