He was born on 13 September 1965 and he graduated cum laude with a degree in Law from the ‘Federico II’ University of Naples.

He was recruited by the Department of Roman Law within the Law Faculty as a contract researcher working on projects funded by the Italian National Research Council (CNR). In the meantime, he was a legal consultant for firms in the areas of labour law and commercial law, collaborating with a law firm of national standing.

He was taken on by the Bank of Italy in 1991 and, based on his previous experience, was assigned to the human resource management function at Head Office. He went on to specialize in management and organization, gaining diplomas at well-known training institutions in Italy and abroad. He also represented the Bank of Italy at national and international events and conferences.

He has taken part in task forces and working groups addressing important organizational changes and developing management and regulatory projects such as: the reform of the Bank's branch network; increasing the number of secondments of Bank staff to international organizations; the transfer of the tasks and resources of the former Italian Foreign Exchange Office (UIC) into the Bank of Italy; the creation of the Banking and Financial Ombudsman (ABF); and the reform of the staff career structure.

In 2007, he became Head of the division dealing with the distribution of professional skills and collaboration – via secondments – with other institutions both in Italy and abroad. In 2014, he became part of the management team of the newly formed Human Resources Directorate and was responsible for: coordinating the analysis and planning of staffing requirements; recruiting professionals and distributing their skills; and staff development and evaluation. In 2017, he took on the role of Deputy Head of the Human Resources Directorate and attended the Human Resources Conference held at the European Central Bank, which brought together all the heads of personnel in the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).

On 1 July 2020, he was appointed Head of the newly formed Services and Logistics Directorate, within the Directorate General for Property and Tenders. This directorate organizes all the Facility Management functions of the Bank of Italy centrally, at the service of the Bank and of the staff promoting organizational wellbeing and social responsibility.
