Born in Florence in 1965, she graduated in Political Science from the University of Florence, specializing in economics, and obtained a Master of Science in Economics from the University of York (UK).

A recipient of the Bonaldo Stringher scholarship, she joined Banca d'Italia in 1993 as a researcher in the Economic Research Department, where she worked for 17 years on issues relating to Italy's public economy and finances, holding various positions outside Banca d'Italia at national and international level.

From 2010 to 2018, she was Head of Economic Research for Banca d'Italia's branch network, coordinating a team of researchers in the main Italian cities. In this role, she gained extensive experience in the analysis of local gaps in the Italian economy.

From 2018 to 2024, she worked in financial education. First, she was assigned to the newly established Committee for the Planning and Coordination of Financial Education Activities at the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, where she helped to launch the Committee's work.

Then, from 2020 to 2024 she was Deputy Head of the Financial Education Directorate, where she coordinated the design and implementation of Banca d’Italia’s financial education programmes.

She is the author of numerous research papers and publications on public finance, economic disparities between Italian regions and financial education.

In November 2024, she was appointed Head of the Communications Directorate.
