The Bank of Italy and the Associazione Carlo Giannini jointly organized the 2nd International Conference in memory of prof. Carlo Giannini, passed away in September 2004. The Conference was held on January 19-20, 2010 in the premises of the Bank of Italy in Rome.
The Conference, entitled "Time series econometrics and macroeconomic forecasting in a policy environment", purports to present and discuss recent research on econometric techniques for economic forecasting. A critical reflection on this theme is particularly timely today, in the aftermath of an international financial and economic crisis that has exposed the difficulties ones meets attempting to formulate reliable macroeconomic forecasting.
