Vincenzo Desario

Born in Barletta in 1933. He joined the Bank of Italy in 1960 and worked as an inspector in connection with banking supervision, rising to become Central Manager for Supervision in 1983.

In 1993 he was appointed Deputy Director General. In 1994 he was appointed Director General, a position he held until 2006, when he was made Director General Emeritus.

Died on November 2020.
