The new section "Buildings of Historical and Artistic Interest" is online

Over the years, The Bank of Italy has expanded its awareness of the importance not only to preserve but also to enhance their architectural and artistic heritage which includes high historical value buildings, art collections and interesting archaeological evidences.

At the same time, the Institute has promoted initiatives for the disclosure of their architectural and artistic heritage to a wider audience. The publication of the section " Buildings of Historical and Artistic Interest" on the Bank of Italy website is itself one of those initiatives.

The focus is both on the buildings in Rome and on the prestigious venues of the branch network. The presence of the Institute on the territory saw the constant contamination between art, architecture and economy: from the first Branch in Florence to the subsequent acquisitions, the Branches of the Bank of Italy have always been buildings of high historical and architectural value placed in the relevant points of the city centers.

The first two buildings presented are Palazzo de Gaetani in Genoa, which celebrated its centennial on May 22, 2016, and Palazzo Antonini, Udine branch until 2009. The buildings will be progressively introduced through the information sheets that will be published in the section.
