Following the assignment to the Bank of Italy of the functions of National Resolution Authority, the Unit carries out the preliminary and operational tasks envisaged by the Single Resolution Mechanism.
It is responsible for resolution planning and applying the resolution tools, supervising the deposit guarantee scheme, finalizing the regulations, in collaboration with the Regulation and Macroprudential Analysis Directorate, and establishing analytical methods.
It carries out the tasks associated with the role of National Resolution Authority of Central Counterparties.
It cooperates with the Single Resolution Board, the Resolution Fund and the European Securities and Markets Authority, as well as with national, European and international institutions.
It monitors voluntary and compulsory liquidation procedures.
It cooperates with the Directorate General for Financial Supervision and Regulation and with the Directorate General for Markets and Payment Systems.
