Born in Castel di Sangro, Italy, in 1970, he was appointed head of the Organization Directorate in February 2023.

After earning a degree in Economics from the Sapienza University of Rome, he served as Officer in the Army Administration Corps.

In 1998 he joined the Bank of Italy and was assigned to the Internal Regulations Division within the Organization Directorate, where he worked on the regulatory changes to be made when the Bank joined the European System of Central Banks. He moved on to the Organizational Development Division and, in 2015, became the Head of that Division, dealing with the main innovation projects: the redesign of the Bank's branch network, the merging of the Italian Exchange Office into the Bank of Italy, the adoption of a model based on Directorates General in the Head Office, the Bank's entry into the Single Supervisory Mechanism, and the introduction of a new strategic planning system. In 2012, he worked at the ECB's Budget and Organization Division, where he carried out analyses on the Eurosystem's operating mechanisms.

Since 2020, he has led the Task Force for the analysis and development of a new hybrid working model at the Bank of Italy. In 2021, he became a member of the managerial team in the Planning and Control Directorate, where he dealt with the integration of corporate planning and control systems.

He attended multiple courses at the London School of Economics, the Centre for Central Banking Studies, and the SDA Bocconi School of Management. He was a member of the Central Bank Governance Network of the Bank for International Settlements for discussing central banks' governance and organizational issues.

Within the Eurosystem, he was part of the Strategic Planning and Collaboration Task Force and is a member of the Task Force on Collaboration, Organization and Planning between central banks. He represented the Bank of Italy in the Committee for the Administrative Transition at the Department for Public Administration. He is a member of the Advisory Board to the Smart Working Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano.
