A new interactive tool to visualize the statistics on financing and investment dynamics in the euro area is now available on the ‘Our Statistics’ website.
Through text, figures and diagrams, the new visualization tool presents the financial interconnections between the national and European institutional sectors, both within the euro area and with the rest of the world. The user can select single financial instruments, sectors, countries, the interface language and the desired time period, create customized charts and compare different countries, so as to better understand who is funding whom − and how − in the euro area.
The ‘Our Statistics’ platform, set up by the European Central Bank together with Banca d’Italia and the other Eurosystem national central banks, provides a means to consult and share, in a simple and intuitive way, national and euro-area statistics on bank interest rates, the banking sector balance sheets, competitiveness indicators and other economic variables. The website is designed for consultation via computer, tablet and mobile devices and allows the user to create customized breakdowns of the data, embed them easily into other websites (for example those of media outlets and newspapers) and share them on social media.
