Information Systems Auditing in a Central Bank: Practical Experience and New Challenges (Rome, 17-19 April 2013)

This year, the first seminar of Bank of Italy's annual programme of technical cooperation with central banks of emerging countries is devoted to IT auditing in central banks.
The seminar aims at sharing experience in this field, highlighting the integration between administrative and IT controls. Newly arising IT risks and the relevant audit approaches will be discussed.

Topics will include identification and classification of IT risks, audit coverage of IT applications, infrastructures and processes and new trends in Information Technology.
Particular attention will be devoted to the analysis of practical experiences. In this regard, there will also be a visit to the Bank of Italy's IT Data Centre and to the Service Desk of Target 2, the payment system platform of the Eurosystem. To stimulate discussion, case studies will be proposed to seminar participants.

Presentations will be given by Bank of Italy's experts; furthermore, two guests have also been invited to present their countries' experiences, in order to foster the exchange of views on various national perspectives.
Participants are representatives from central banks of new EU member states, EU candidates and potential candidates, countries included in the EU neighbourhood policy and other emerging economies.

Participation in the Bank of Italy's international cooperation seminars is by invitation only and is reserved to central banks.
