This section contains Bank of Italy notices concerning specific aspects or matters not covered by circulars or other formal provisions. In particular, it includes the record of the average annual percentage rates of charge on credit transactions, as established by Law 108/1996, which redefined the crime of usury by introducing limits on lending rates. The Bank of Italy is responsible for calculating the average annual percentage rates of charge, which, increased by 50 per cent, indicate the usury threshold rates, and instructing banks and financial intermediaries accordingly.
