Notice - Unauthorized use of the name of Banca d'Italia

Fraudulent e-mail messages have been transmitted via the Internet which, utilizing the name "Banca d'Italia", inform the recipients that they are entitled to receive tax refunds.

For this purpose, the recipients of the messages are asked to visit a website - https://registration.bancaditalia.it/login/faces/public/login.jspx - and to fill out a form for a refund that bears the logo of Banca d'Italia and requests personal data and information relating to credit cards.

Banca d'Italia herewith formally advises that these e-mail messages and this website are false and have nothing whatever to do with Banca d'Italia, nor have they been authorized by Banca d'Italia.

To protect users, Banca d'Italia has reported these episodes to the competent police authorities, while reserving the right to take all other appropriate initiatives to safeguard its interests and image.
