Organization of supervision

The Bank of Italy performs its supervisory activity at both central and local level.

Depending on the size and complexity of intermediaries, supervision is carried out by the units of the supervision area at central level and by 26 branches and 6 units specialized in supervision.

Head Offices and Branches
To know the organizational structures of the Bank of Italy concerned with supervision.

Responsible organizational units (only in Italian)
To know the units to which correspondence is to be sent and the units responsible for administrative proceedings (Bank of Italy Regulation of 25 June 2008) (only in Italian).

Competent provinces (only in Italian)
To know the units of the Bank responsible for performing supervision at local level.
The Bank's Governing Board has charged the heads of the supervision area, departments and branches with adopting measures in the field of banking and financial supervision (Granting of delegated powers) (only in Italian).
