The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was established in 1961 with the aim of fostering policies to encourage healthy economic growth and the expansion of multilateral trade. Today, 30 countries are members of the OECD. Member countries' policies in the various areas of interest of the OECD are discussed in numerous committees and working groups.
The Bank of Italy participates in the work of some of OECD's committees and working groups dealing with economic and financial matters. Amongst these are: the Economic Policy Committee, the Economic and Development Review Committee and the Committee on Financial Markets.
