In the framework of the summit meetings of the heads of state or government of the seven major industrialized countries (United States, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom and Canada) and, since 1988, Russia, regular ministerial meetings take place with the Economy and Finance Ministers and the Governors of the central banks of these countries. These meetings are however continuing under the G7 composition (the Financial G7). The President of the Euro-group and the President of the European Central Bank also participate in these meetings to represent the euro area.
Italy is represented by the Minister for Economy and Finance and the Governor of the Bank of Italy.
