The G20 is an informal organization composed of the Economy and Finance Ministers, the Governors of the central banks of 19 industrialized and developing countries, the European Union, represented by the European Council presidency in office at the time, and the European Central Bank. Meetings are also attended by representatives from the IMF and the World Bank. The G20 was established in 1999 to widen the debate on global economic stability to include countries of systemic importance. In addition to the G7 countries, the G20 is composed of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey.
Italy is represented by the Minister for the Economy and Finance and the Governor of the Bank of Italy.
