Technical cooperation with central banks and other institutions

The Bank of Italy has long been cooperating with similar institutions, providing training and consultancy services. Through these activities the Bank of Italy shares its experience and knowledge to improve staff training, contributes to institution building and in this way also promotes the achievement of international financial stability.
The beneficiary institutions belong to the new EU member states and candidate countries, potential candidate countries in the Western Balkans, Mediterranean, Eastern Europe, and South Caucasus countries that come under the EU neighbourhood policy, Russia, China, and other emerging economies.
Cooperation areas include all institutional functions carried out by the Bank of Italy (central banking, economic research, supervision, payment systems and treasury) as well as support activities (IT, internal auditing, etc.).
Cooperation activities mainly take the form of:
- international seminars;
- study visits in Italy or on site, carried out in response to the specific requests of the beneficiary institutions;
- participation in capacity building programmes.
In each of the areas of interest the Bank of Italy provides qualified expertise.
