The work done by CODISE and its counterparts in other countries were the basis from which BIS and Eurosystem working groups started to produce two major papers:
- "High Level Principles for Business Continuity," published in August 2006 by the Joint Forum of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision;
- "Business Continuity Oversight Expectations for Systemically Important Payment Systems," published in May 2006 by the European Central Bank.
These papers refer to a broader group of institutions than the Banca d'Italia's guidelines. The Basel paper, drafted at the behest of the Financial Stability Forum, is addressed to regulators and financial intermediaries, while the ECB document is intended for systemically important payment systems and their participants. CODISE provides support to the Italian representatives at the international bodies dealing with business continuity issues.
