This section contains the other finding aids for Scholars consulting the Archives. These tools integrate the information available on the computerized database and in the Guide itself.
In particular, there is a complete list of all the banks supervised by the Bank of Italy from 1926 to 1960, except for companies operating in the sector in the medium and long term. This list was taken from the computerized database. There are also two inventories of archival fonds (the "De' Stefani" and "Stringher" papers), published before the start of the computerized filing system (1988).
After that date it was decided not to publish any more analytical inventories of single archival fonds and to prepare a guide. Above all, it was decided to take advantage of the database's potential since it can hold far more information than is normally available in a traditional inventory.
It should also be remembered that the Historical series of the Bank of Italy and the Historical research papers (Quaderni dell'Ufficio Ricerche Storiche) have made extensive use of the papers held at the Bank of Italy's Historical Archives and that they also contain a great deal of information on archival holdings. In this regard, see in particular Research papers (Quaderni) nos. 2, 3, 4 and 9.
