Opening hours

Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except holidays, the last three working days of May, 29 June, and the half-holidays of 14 August and 24 and 31 December.

 

Public admission

  • Guests wishing to frequent the Paolo Baffi Reading Room must submit a request by e-mail or fax
  • Guests must obtain a pass at the porter's lodge, leaving an identity document
  • Guests must fill in an admission form; they are also required to produce a letter of presentation written by an employee of the Bank or, on headed paper, by a university teacher or by their own organization. The presentation is valid for one year

Access to the collections
Direct access is permitted for collections kept in the Reading Room (main general indexes, periodicals published by international organizations and some central banks, publications of the Bank of Italy).

For works kept in storerooms, requests must be made to Reading Room staff, according to the procedures laid down in the Rules.

 

Services
It is possible to request the assistance of a librarian for specific information (complex bibliographic research, consultation of electronic resources, retrieval of economic and financial data, advice on research work).

Photocopies are permitted within the limits allowed by copyright laws in force and provided that the material will not be damaged. Photocopies can be made without assistance, using two photocopiers that work with prepaid rechargeable cards. The price is € 0.15 per photocopy.

Borrowing of books is restricted to employees of the Bank in Rome.
