Legal research (Quaderni di ricerca giuridica)
The economic and technical analysis that forms the basis of the Bank of Italy’s central banking and supervisory activity is accompanied by legal research into credit and monetary phenomena and, more generally, into the institutional aspects of economic activity. Within the Bank, in addition to handling disputes and providing advice, the Legal Department is entrusted with the task of carrying out research into legal matters concerning banking.
The series is intended to be an instrument for the dissemination within the Bank and the banking system of papers produced mainly by members of the Legal Department starting from research of specific interest to the Bank. The papers give the opinions of the individual authors and therefore do not represent the official positions adopted by the Bank of Italy.
