No. 72 - Banking, financial and insurance legislation: the history, the present, the future

This issue contains the proceedings of the Conference on Banking, financial and insurance legislation: the history, the present, the future, held at the Bank of Italy's headquarters on 14 October 2012.

During the conference a preliminary version of a study on the History of Banking, financial and insurance legislation - From Italian Unity to 2010 (the contribution of the Legal Department to the celebrations for the 150 years of national unity) was submitted to discussants and participants for comments.

The authors took account of these in the final version of the study, updated to 2011 and now published in the Bank of Italy's historical series. The issue also contains the transcription of the roundtable in the afternoon devoted to the relationship between law and economics, national and European authorities and the role of 'soft law' in regulating the global economy.
