The new €5 banknote

The President of the European Central Bank (ECB), Mario Draghi, has presented the new €5 banknote in Frankfurt am Main. It will come into circulation on 2 May 2013.

The new banknote and its advanced security features are shown in the "press kit" available below and on the website www.newfaceoftheeuro.eu created for the new "Europa" series of euro banknotes.
