The G7 reaffirms its commitment to strengthening cybersecurity in the financial sector

On 11 October 2018 the G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting under the Canadian presidency took place in Bali, alongside the 2018 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

The G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors agreed to adopt two documents laying down sets of fundamental elements to provide financial entities with a guide to assess their resilience against cyber-incidents by using simulated events (G7 Fundamental Elements for Threat Led Penetration Testing) and with best practices to effectively manage cyber risks posed by third parties  (G7 Fundamental Elements for Third Party Cyber Risk Management).
