The Bank of Italy launches two new channels for receiving reports of regulatory violationsand misconduct in management on the part of supervised entities

The Bank of Italy has created two new online channels dedicated solely to receiving reports of possible regulatory violations or alleged management irregularities on the part of supervised entities. Employees and consultants of a financial intermediary may submit a whistleblowing report via email to whistleblowing-vigilanza@bancaditalia.it or by regular mail pursuant to the instructions on the Bank of Italy's webpage on whistleblowing. The Bank of Italy guarantees the privacy of the whistleblower's personal data in accordance with the applicable privacy laws (Article 52-ter of the Consolidated Law on Banking, Article 4-duodecies of the Consolidated Law on Finance, and Law 179/2017).

Individuals who are not employees or consultants of a financial intermediary supervised by the Bank of Italy may submit a report via email at segnalazioniaziendali-vigilanza@bancaditalia.it or by regular mail, following the instructions on the Bank of Italy's webpage on whistleblowing.

For customers who wish to complain about a financial intermediary, different tools are available to protect the users of banking and financial services, such as customer complaint procedures and recourse to the Banking and Financial Ombudsman (ABF). Please click here to learn more about them.

More information can be found on the Bank of Italy's dedicated webpage on internal and external whistleblowing.
