The Bank of Italy launches the 2015/2016 "Financial Education in Schools" programmme

The Bank of Italy has launched the 2015/2016 ‘Financial education in schools’ programme, one of several financial education initiatives sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The programme is run in conjunction with the other signatory institutions of the Charter of Intent, an agreement to promote financial education; to build a culture of economic legality; and to improve financial literacy among young people.

In line with international best practice, the project is competence based and designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make informed financial decisions. It involves all school grades with training sessions for teachers organized by the Bank of Italy and sessions for students delivered by their teachers.

Schools that wish to get involved are invited to contact the Regional School Departments and Branches of the Bank of Italy.
