We have been informed that there have been some attempts to wrongfully obtain personal data (phishing) via an e-mail apparently sent by the Bank of Italy with ‘Fattura per il pagamento’ (Invoice for payment) in the subject line.
Please note that both the sender and the text of the email make unauthorized reference to the Bank of Italy.
The Bank of Italy has in no way authorized these emails or the collection of personal data via a link to a website included in the emails.
In order to protect the public, the Bank of Italy has reported this episode to the competent authorities, reserving the right to further protect its interests and image as necessary.
