'Meet the Bank of Italy' moves to Florence

'Meet the Bank of Italy' is an itinerant initiative aimed at raising public awareness of the tasks and functions of Italy’s central bank, also with reference to the economic topics of the day.

After the meetings held in Turin and Naples, on 4 October the organizers will be in Florence to talk about 'Innovation in the payment system, FinTech and crypto assets'.

The payment system and the services that support the proper functioning of the markets are the principle components of the financial infrastructure of each country. Cash continues to play an important role, especially in Italy, but payments are increasingly made using innovative technologies and instruments. What is the Bank of Italy's role in this area? What should we expect in the future? What do the terms FinTech, bitcoin and crypto assets really mean? These are some of the questions we will seek to answer in Florence.
