G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' meeting in Bari

The G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors met in Bari from 11 to 13 May. The meeting was attended by the Finance Ministers and the Central Bank Governors of the G7 countries, the European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs, the President of the Eurogroup and the President of the European Central Bank.

The G7 Finance meeting in Bari focused on the four priorities of the Italian Presidency:

  • Growth and combating inequality
  • Coordination of international financial institutions
  • Security as a ‘global public good’, which includes issues related to the financing of terrorism, remittances and cyber security
  • International taxation

On Friday 12 May, a symposium attended by economists of international standing, which is not open to the public, will be held in Bari at the Castello Normanno Svevo, ahead of the G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ meeting. The first session will be dedicated to the issues of growth and combating inequality, while the second session will focus on finance, regulation, and growth.
