Fabrizio Saccomanni appointed to the G20 Eminent Persons Group on Global Financial Governance

The Finance Ministers and Governors of the Central Banks of the G20 countries have set up the G20 Eminent Persons Group on Global Financial Governance with a mandate to analyse the challenges and opportunities of the international monetary and financial system and to recommend practical reforms to improve the functioning of the global financial architecture and governance.

The Group is chaired by Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore and Fabrizio Saccomanni has been appointed as a member.

Currently Vice-President of the Institute of International Affairs (Istituto Affari Internazionali - IAI), Fabrizio Saccomanni was the Italian Minister for Economy and Finance from 28 April 2013 to 24 February 2014. He was Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Italy (2006-2013), President of the Italian Insurance Supervisory Authority (IVASS), Member of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (2006-2013) andVice-President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (2003-2006).
